Day 1 – Arrival in Munich
Arrive in Munich, the capital of Bavaria and one of Germany’s most beautiful cities. After check-in, enjoy a short orientation tour or explore the city at leisure. Discover Marienplatz with its famous New Town Hall, stroll through the historic Old Town, and admire the Frauenkirche. If time permits, visit the Viktualienmarkt or relax in one of Munich’s traditional beer gardens. Overnight in Munich.
Day 2 – Neuschwanstein Castle – Innsbruck
Depart Munich and travel through the scenic Bavarian countryside to Neuschwanstein Castle, the fairytale castle of King Ludwig II, dramatically situated in the Alps. Enjoy the spectacular mountain scenery and views over the surrounding lakes. Continue across the German-Austrian border to Innsbruck, the capital of Tyrol. Take a walk through the historic Old Town and see the famous Golden Roof, one of the city’s best-known landmarks. Overnight in Innsbruck.
Day 3 – BEST OF INNSBRUCK: Sparkling Installations, Alpine Panorama & Tyrolean Traditions
Discover Innsbruck – THE CAPITAL OF THE ALPS - and its impressive combination of historic architecture and Alpine scenery. Visit Swarovski Crystal Worlds, a fascinating world of sparkling art, design and crystal installations. Later, take the cable car up to Nordkette with the “Top of Innsbruck” and enjoy breathtaking panoramic views over Innsbruck and the surrounding Tyrolean Alps. In the evening, experience the traditional Tyrolean Folk Show with the Gundolf Family featuring regional music, dancing and customs combined with a delicious local meal. Overnight in Innsbruck.
Day 4 – Innsbruck – Salzburg
Travel from Innsbruck towards Salzburg through the spectacular Austrian Alpine landscape. Arrive in Salzburg, the birthplace of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and a UNESCO World Heritage city. Explore the charming Old Town, Getreidegasse, Mozart’s birthplace and the impressive Salzburg Cathedral. Enjoy views of Hohensalzburg Fortress overlooking the city and stroll along the Salzach River. Salzburg’s elegant squares, historic buildings and musical heritage make it one of Austria’s most atmospheric destinations. The afternoon is at leisure, or choose an optional excursion to the Berchtesgaden Salt Mines, the Eagle’s Nest or beautiful Lake Königssee. Overnight in Salzburg.
Day 5 – Hallstatt – Melk – Dürnstein – Vienna
Leave Salzburg and travel to Hallstatt, one of Austria’s most picturesque lakeside villages, surrounded by mountains. Continue through the Wachau Valley, a UNESCO-listed cultural landscape. Enjoy a scenic Danube River cruise towards Melk and admire the vineyards, castles and charming villages along the river. Continue to Dürnstein, famous for its medieval character, blue church tower and riverside setting. Afterwards, continue to Vienna, Austria’s elegant capital. Overnight in Vienna.
Day 6 – Vienna: Imperial Highlights
Discover Vienna, the former center of the Habsburg Empire. Visit the magnificent Hofburg Palace, St. Stephen’s Cathedral and the historic city center. Stroll along the elegant Ringstrasse, lined with grand buildings including the Vienna State Opera and Parliament. Continue to Schönbrunn Palace, the former imperial summer residence, with its magnificent gardens. In the evening, enjoy Vienna’s renowned café culture or experience a classical concert. Day 7 – Vienna at Leisure
Enjoy a relaxed day to experience more of Vienna at your own pace. Visit the Belvedere Palace and admire its impressive art collection, including works by Gustav Klimt, or explore the MuseumsQuartier. Alternatively, discover the city’s traditional markets, cafés and shopping streets. A visit to the Prater, home to the famous Giant Ferris Wheel, offers a different perspective of the Austrian capital. Spend your final evening enjoying Viennese cuisine and the city’s vibrant cultural atmosphere. Overnight in Vienna.
Day 8 – Vienna – Departure
Enjoy a final morning in Vienna for a leisurely breakfast and some free time before your departure. Depending on your flight schedule, take a last stroll through the historic center, enjoy a Viennese coffee and pastry, or purchase souvenirs. Transfer to Vienna International Airport for your return flight, bringing your journey through Bavaria, the Tyrolean Alps and Austria’s historic cities to an end.
