Day 1 – Arrival in Milan

Arrival in Milan, Italy’s elegant fashion and design capital. Depending on your arrival time, begin exploring the city center, with its magnificent Duomo, the elegant Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II and the famous La Scala Opera House. Stroll through the historic streets and enjoy the lively Italian atmosphere. Milan offers a fascinating combination of art, culture, architecture and fashion, making it a wonderful starting point for your Alpine journey. Overnight in Milan.

Day 2 – Milan – Lake Garda – Sirmione – Verona

Depart Milan and travel towards beautiful Lake Garda, Italy’s largest lake. Visit Sirmione, one of the lake’s most picturesque towns, situated on a narrow peninsula and dominated by the impressive Scaliger Castle. Enjoy its charming historic center and lakeside atmosphere before continuing to Verona. Discover the romantic city of Romeo and Juliet, including Piazza delle Erbe, Juliet’s Balcony and the magnificent Roman Arena. Overnight in Verona.

Day 3 – Verona – Trento – Bolzano

Leave Verona and travel north through the scenic Adige Valley towards Trento, surrounded by vineyards and impressive mountains. Explore the historic center and Piazza Duomo, with its beautiful cathedral and colorful buildings. Continue to Bolzano, the gateway to the Dolomites. Discover the city’s unique blend of Italian and South Tyrolean culture, reflected in its architecture, cuisine and atmosphere. Enjoy a stroll beneath the historic arcades and experience the charming Alpine-Mediterranean character of Bolzano. Overnight in Bolzano.

Day 4 – Bolzano – Seceda – Vipiteno – Innsbruck

Experience some of the most spectacular scenery of the journey. Travel into the Dolomites and visit Seceda, famous for its dramatic ridgeline and breathtaking panoramic views. Continue north through South Tyrol to Vipiteno, one of Italy’s most beautiful historic mountain towns, known for its colorful facades and medieval atmosphere. Cross the Austrian border and continue to Innsbruck, the capital of Tyrol, surrounded by impressive Alpine peaks. Overnight in Innsbruck.

Day 5 – BEST OF INNSBRUCK: Sparkling Installations, Alpine Panorama & Tyrolean Traditions

Discover Innsbruck – THE CAPITAL OF THE ALPS - and its impressive combination of historic architecture and Alpine scenery. Visit Swarovski Crystal Worlds, a fascinating world of sparkling art, design and crystal installations. Later, take the cable car up to Nordkette with the “Top of Innsbruck” and enjoy breathtaking panoramic views over Innsbruck and the surrounding Tyrolean Alps. In the evening, experience the traditional Tyrolean Folk Show with the Gundolf Family featuring regional music, dancing and customs combined with a delicious local meal. Overnight in Innsbruck.

Day 6 – Innsbruck – Hall in Tirol – Gramai – Achensee – Munich

Leave Innsbruck and begin the journey towards Munich. Stop in historic Hall in Tirol and visit Burg Hasegg with its Coining Museum, where you can discover the fascinating history of coin production and the historic Hall mint. Continue to Gramai in the Alpenpark Karwendel for a delicious lunch surrounded by spectacular mountain scenery. Afterwards, visit beautiful Lake Achensee and enjoy a relaxing lake cruise with magnificent views of the surrounding Alps. Continue to Munich. Overnight in Munich.

Day 7 – Munich – Neuschwanstein – Rhine Falls – Zurich

Depart Munich and travel through beautiful Alpine scenery to Neuschwanstein Castle, the spectacular fairytale castle of King Ludwig II. Continue towards Switzerland and visit the impressive Rhine Falls, one of Europe’s most powerful waterfalls. Enjoy the dramatic views before continuing to Zurich, Switzerland’s largest city, beautifully situated on Lake Zurich. Overnight in Zurich.

Day 8 – Lucerne & Optional Mountain Experience

Enjoy a full-day excursion to picturesque Lucerne, beautifully located on Lake Lucerne. Discover the famous Chapel Bridge, Lion Monument, historic Old Town and attractive lakeside promenade. For an unforgettable Alpine experience, choose an optional excursion to Mount Pilatus, offering spectacular panoramic views, or Mount Titlis, famous for its high-altitude mountain scenery, glacier experiences and impressive cable-car journey. Return to Zurich in the afternoon or evening. Overnight in Zurich.

Day 9 – Zurich – Interlaken – Bern

Depart Zurich and travel through magnificent Swiss landscapes to Interlaken, dramatically situated between Lake Thun and Lake Brienz. Enjoy views of the surrounding Bernese Alps before continuing to Bern, Switzerland’s charming capital. Explore its UNESCO-listed Old Town, medieval arcades, historic fountains and the famous Zytglogge clock tower. Bern combines a fascinating history with a relaxed atmosphere and beautiful views along the Aare River. Overnight in the Bern area.

Day 10 – Lake Geneva – Montreux – Zermatt

Continue towards Lake Geneva and discover the beautiful Swiss Riviera. Visit Montreux, famous for its elegant lakeside promenade, flower-filled waterfront and spectacular views across the lake to the Alps. Continue through the Valais region towards Zermatt, one of Switzerland’s most famous mountain resorts. The car-free village lies beneath the iconic Matterhorn and offers a wonderful Alpine atmosphere. Depending on weather conditions, enjoy panoramic mountain views before relaxing in the village. Overnight in Zermatt.

Day 11 – Zermatt – Lugano – Milan

Travel south through spectacular Alpine scenery towards Lugano, where Swiss and Italian influences meet. Enjoy time to explore the elegant city center and lakeside promenade, surrounded by mountains and Mediterranean vegetation. Continue across the border into Italy and return to Milan. Depending on your arrival time, enjoy some free time for shopping or further sightseeing, perhaps visiting the magnificent Duomo or relaxing in the lively city center. Overnight in Milan.

Day 12 – Departure from Milan

After breakfast, your Grand Alpine Journey comes to an end. Depending on your departure time, enjoy some final free time in Milan for sightseeing, shopping or a relaxed Italian breakfast.
